Our Commitment

Sustainability

The land of Lesvos is not a resource to extract from. It's a living system we are part of. Everything we do is designed to leave it healthier than we found it.

01

Wild and clean, from hillside to jar

Every herb we sell is collected wild, by hand, from untreated land on Lesvos (lavender is the only herb we grow). We keep records of where each batch came from and who collected it.

02

Ethical Wild Harvesting

Wild harvesting is only sustainable when done with discipline. We follow strict seasonal cycles, never harvest more than 50% of any wild population, and rotate collection areas annually to allow full regeneration.

03

Minimal Packaging

Our packaging is designed to minimise plastic. Primary containers are glass or food-grade kraft. We are actively replacing all non-recyclable materials and targeting fully compostable packaging by 2027.

04

Supporting Local Livelihoods

We pay our partners above-market rates and structure agreements that give them predictability. Small-scale farming on Lesvos is what keeps the landscape alive — and we want to keep it that way.

05

Scientific Stewardship

We track active compound concentrations per batch. When levels suggest a plant population is under stress, we stop harvesting that species for the season. Science guides our sustainability decisions, not guesswork.

06

Lowering what we burn

Our workshop runs on renewable electricity from the Lesvos grid. We batch our shipments to cut transport, and we would rather reduce what we use than buy our way out of it.

Scientific Partnership

Guided by Research

We collaborate with independent botanists and biochemists to verify the quality and sustainability of our harvests. Active compound profiling, population monitoring, and soil analysis are part of our annual cycle — not optional extras.

Our herb profiles draw on published botanical and pharmacological literature, which is how we decide what to collect and how to handle it. They are background for us, not directions for you.
